Anti-HIV Activity Of Some Mannich Bases Of Isatin Derivatives

A number of Mannich bases of Isatin were synthesised and screened for anti-HIV activity. The Schiff’s base derived from 5-Methylisatin and trimethoprim was converted into Mannich bases. The N-dimethyl (Pan I) and morpholino (Pan M) were the most active compounds in the series and gave maximum protection against HIV-1 (III B) strain.
