Effect of sodium azide on pharmaceutically active flavonoids in trigonella species.

Seeds of T. foenum-graecum and T. corniculata were treated with sodium azide, germinated and harvested (seeds of M1 and M2 generations) to study their flavonoid contents. The total flavonoid contents (free and bound) increased in both the plant species to their maximum at 0.0001M concentration and decreased at 0.001M of NaN3 as compared to the control in both M1 and M2 generations.
