The solubilities of ultraviolet light absorbers, Uvinul D-50 and Uvinul N-35 in aqueous solutions of polyoxyethylene glycol ether nonionic surfactants of varying chain length have been studied at 25. The solubility data and the absorption spectra in aqueous surfactant solutions and other solvents suggest that the solubilization of Uvinul D-50 occurs predominantly in the polyoxyethylene region of the micelle while Uvinul N-35 is distributed between this region and the hydrocarbon interior.
