Solid dispersions of a combination of sulphamethoxazole (SMZ) and trimethoprim (TMP) were prepared using PEG6000 as carrier, by fusion method. PEG6000 does not interact with the drugs increases the solubility of both the drugs appreciably. SMZ exhibits faster dissolution from solid dispersions but dissolution rate of TMP is not altered significantly.
