Some hydrazides (III), amides (IV, V) have been synthesised by the reaction of 3,4-disubstituted ethyl 1,2,4-triazole-5-meracaptoacetates (I) with hydrazines and cyclic secondary amines respectively. The hydrazides obtained were treated with phenyl isothiocynate to afford the triazolomethylmercaptotriazoles (IV), while with aldehyde, arylidene derivatives (VII-X) were obtained. These compounds have been tested for their antibacterial and antifungal activity. Only compounds IIa, IIb, VIa-c, Xa and Xc exhibit the activity of high order.
