A rapid colorimetric determination of sotalol-hydrochloride in bulk and dosage form.

A new spectrophotometric method for the estimation of Sotalol Hydrochloride (SH) based on its reaction with Folin-ciocalteu reagent in presence of sodium carbonate solution is described here. The complex has a maximum absorbance at 725 nm and obeys Beer's law in the range of 0.8-40 mcg/ml. The method is statistically validated and results compare favourably with those obtained by reported method. |
