Mathematical model for enteric coated tablets using cellulose acetate phthalate

Enteric film coating of tablets, using cellulose acetate phthalate (CAP) was studied by statistical techniques. The effect of three independent formulation variables, on disintegration time of the coated tablets in buffer of pH 6.8 and 1.8 was studied. Regression analysis of the data, resulted in two first-order polynomial equations. Applying the steepest descent procedure to the regression equations the disintegration time results were predicted at different levels of the variables.
