Effect of various additives like purified talc, Aerosil 200, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium chloride of various sieve fractions on the release of centperazine (a liquid freely soluble in polar and non-polar solvents) from carnauba wax matrix tablets was studied. Aerosil 200 and SLS increased the release rate while talc and sodium chloride did not affect it significantly. Particle size of sodium chloride was found to have little effect on release of drug.
