N, N-Diethyl phenyl acetamide in a dose of 1166.6 mg/kg exerted adverse effect on body weight of adult female rats by 14 days' percutaneous application. A 15 day application of the same dose to pregnant females during gestation period caused intrauterine mortality and lower foetal weight. Lower doses of 583 and 145.9 mg/kg body weight corresponding to 1/3 and 1/12 dermal LD 50 did not have any gross adverse effect on foetus, reproduction or post-natal growth of offsprings.
