A reversed-phase HPLC assay procedure for the determination of oxymetazoline hydrochloride and its dosage forms is described. The compound was chromatographed on a C18 column using a mobile phase consisting of methanol: acentonitrile: water : diethylamine (45:20:35:0.3). The low values of standard deviation and coefficient of variation indicate good precision of the proposed method. The percentage recovery being 100 +/- 2 percent indicates non-interference from other excipients present in the formulations. PDF
