A simple, precise & rapid, reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the simultaneous determination of Cephalexin & Probenecid in tablets, on a Novapak C18 (4micron) column using Water:Methanol:Acetonitrile:Glacial Acetic Acid (50:20:30:1) as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.5 ml/min. and effluent was monitored at 254nm. The minimum detection limit obtained for both the drugs was 2 mcg/ml. Nifedipine was used as an internal standard & the order of elution was Cephalexin:Nifedipine (I.S):Probenecid (4.34:6:22:8.7 min respectively. Results obtained were statistically comparable.
