Abstract
Ethambutol hydrochloride (Et. HCI) when treated with sodium periodate and acetylacetone reagent products yellow coloured chromogen having maximum absorbance at 412 nm. The Beer's law obeys in the range of 1-14 mcg/ml of Et. HCI. The proposed method when applied to the analysis of Et. HCI, the results compare favourably with those obtained by official method. The precentage RSD is 0.43.
