After experiencing an eventful year of 2016, the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences stepped into 2017, with a slightly delayed publication schedule, which resulted due to changing the publisher of the journal. I regret the delays in publication, non-availability of the journal on-line for some time in the middle of the year due to which authors and many subscribers have faced certain inconveniences. The editorial team is making all efforts to bring back the journal to schedule as well as to reduce the time taken for publishing an article. Currently, the journal has restored the on-line publication schedule and the print issues will also be made current within a short time.
On the brighter side, the journal’s impact factor improved to 0.762 and its h-index reached 40 for the year 2015. Based on the h-index, IJPS remained on the top among all Indian journals in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and holds the 3rd rank in Asia and 46th rank in the world.
I take this opportunity to acknowledge contributions of Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, Dr. Chandrashekhar Barhate, Mr. Anudeep Balla, Dr. Manjunath P. Mudagal, Dr. Gurubasavaraja Swamy, Dr. Suresh Janadri, Mr. Ganesh Andhale, Ms. Shyli Makula, Mr. Srinivas, Mr. Sandeep, Ms. Neha Gupta in bringing out issues of the journal.
I would also like to express my deep sense of gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of IJPS, all the office bearers and the staff of IPA centre, for their support in bringing out yet another volume of IJPS and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 79 of IJPS in scheduled time.
Finally, I request all authors desirous of submitting manuscripts for publication to the journal, to submit articles that fully comply with the journal format, which would support expeditious publication of submitted articles.
